The exhibition consists of three distinct yet related bodies of work all centered around the idea of what unfolds behind closed doors.
What makes a private space private?
One would say the mind is the most private space of all, yet the intimate thoughts and feelings of this artist collective are individually painted on the wall for anyone to view. The Mind is a bold statement exposing the artists' innermost thoughts, and showing the audience a part of themselves that is normally mysterious and unknown.
The human body is an intimate place and the collective has uncovered themselves in a collection of black and white photographs called The Body. These photographs anonymously reveal various body parts usually covered, and explores the idea of why we choose to withhold our bodies to certain people, in certain situations.
How does one act when alone in their room versus being surrounded by others? A bedroom is a place where a person goes to feel secure and relaxed, and it contains some of our most personal possessions. Who we choose to share our private spaces with and the difference in how we act within these public and private spaces speaks volumes about who we are. The Room is a recreation of a simple bedroom inside the gallery space with footage of some very public places is projected over one wall of he bedroom, making the two opposite spaces overlap.
What we choose to conceal is just as big a show of our character as what we wish to expose.
Step inside the interactive space filled with works featuring various mediums of art. The ever changing audio sounds and videos create a new experience at every moment, and allow each individual viewer to be engulfed completely into this unmasked exhibition. By displaying the thoughts and bodies of Six to the Muffin on the walls, they are making their private parts visible to anyone who chooses to look.
